Problem:
The OEM needed a new heater design that would eliminate problems with uneven heat distribution, restricted material flow and pressure limitations. The old heater design used an open coiled heater with limited watt density. The exposed heater design produced uneven heat distribution, restricted material flow, pressure limitations and leakage issues. Also, due to the viscosity of paint, the watt density of the exposed heater had to be low causing the heater to be large. |
Solution:
The cast-in heater design with an integral coiled heater and stainless steel tube enabled the customer to improve the volume, flow and pressure (5000 psi) of the paint spray equipment while reducing the size and increasing reliability. |
